Lascivious, graceful and furiously fast, as a photographer Petra Sagnak knows exactly why her Jaguar E-type is just picture perfect.
‘The most beautiful car ever made’, these are the words of Enzo Ferrari at the introduction of the Jaguar E-type. That’s quite the compliment. Each random look at the gracious curves of this iconic sixties sports car amplify Ferrari’s quote. For decades the E-type is celebrated amongst enthousiasts and admirers from every generation. Petra is a professional photographer with a strong feel for design. Renowned for her pictures of motor sport events and above all a lady that lives and breathes petrol and Castrol oil. No wonder a girl like her chooses the elegant forms and sporty handling of the 4.2 litre series 2 Coupé. A Coupé originally registered in het USA but imported to Germany in the recent past. That’s where the car was completely restored and repainted in its original British Racing Green livery.
The various body styles of the E-type were produced in relatively large numbers, especially for a sports car. The infamous Fixed Head Coupé, the Open Two Seater and in a later stage the stretched 2+2 Coupé. From 1961 on the series 1 is marketed, in later years slowly evolving until it is replaced by the series 2 in 1969. These days those later series 1 models are known as the series 1½. An unofficial denomination that has become widely spread, especially since these versions are seen as the ultimate in Jaguar E-types among the purists. The changes made to the series 2 are quite obvious in the design of the car as well, although they don’t really effect the beauty of the car yet. In 1971 the E-type evolves even further, design wise, but the motorisation as well. The well loved straight six engine is replace by Jaguars V12. Once the least desired of the range, these serie 3 cars are now on the up amongst enthousiasts and collectors from the younger generations.
The sexy lines of the car, its potent engine, the refined interior and a great deal of heritage make the Jaguar E-type one of the most beautiful and most desired British classics. With her professional photographers eye, Petra knows how to describe the E-type best. A wunderschönes car with elegant lines, reflections, curves and chrome, that make the E-type a timeless beauty to depict. Since she is a professional photographer as well as specialized in taking pictures of classic cars, like the quote of Enzo Ferrari, this is another praise to the beauty of the Jag!
Petra is a hands on woman. She doesn’t just drive the car, but when necessary she will grab her tools and solve minor problems underneath the bonnet of her E-type. Of course she prefers to slide behind the large steering wheel to enjoy her cat just like the previous owners did in the sixties and seventies. With pride and a great deal of enthousiasm she puts the pedal to the metal. For this is a fast and timelessly beautiful car, which Petra enjoys to the max.
